Director's Statement
In Found I want to explore a brief exploration of how complicated one's heart may be, when being raised as a transracial adoptee, during these racially-charged times. What happens for someone whose insides don't match their outsides from a visceral level - not just the assumptions of their interests and passions, but also of their cultural upbringing? How does the judgement of the cover, rewrite the book, particularly in current, racially charged America. When I witnessed how complicated my good friend's story was as a Korean adoptee during the Atlanta shootings, I needed to write a slice of her story.
